Our commitment to horses' welfare lends itself to being a resource for horses that need to be rehomed.  We offer access to experienced Instructors who can assess the suitability of a horse and weigh it against the experience level of a potential human partner.  We emphasize matching humans and horses who are compatible in personality (and horsenality!), skill, and talent, and offer the education and guidance to support the new relationship.

Canyon

FOR LEASE:  Canyon is a 16 yr. old Hanoverian mare.  She has a background in dressage, and has been playing with natural horsemanship training for the last 2 years.  She is Level 3 online and Level 2/3 Freestyle riding.  She is for lease because her owner is heading off to college for the fall.  Please email Gretchen@thehorsefirst.net with any questions.  

 TOBI

Toby is an 18 year old arabian gelding. He has had one owner his whole life and has taken excellent care of her. He spent the majority of his life as a show horse before his owner discovered Parelli and since then he has been barefoot and lived on an outdoor track. He clips, loads, bathes and is a pleasure to be around as he is gentle and very sweet. He is often mistaken for a much younger horse because he enjoys making people laugh and goofing around. Toby is a left brain extrovert and so much fun to play with! He would make an excellent companion for a young rider or a petite older rider as he is reliable and steady but still very fun.
