Feed Barn
The Horse First's most unique service is our breakfast routine, where the horses are brought down every day to the feed barn and fed their individualized meals. Each morning, the farms skilled staff lead each track herd down to the barn at liberty for AM feeding. Horses are given a health check and then naturally and respectfully loaded into their slip stalls where their feed awaits. In this process, the horses are handled in a daily positive and progressive manner.
Tracks
The tracks system is based off natural equine expert, Jaime Jacksons book, Paddock Paradise. Tracks function by allowing the natural flow of horses in a herd to create more movement as they move in society throughout the day. Water is in one location while hay and shelter are located elsewhere on the same track. As the heard moves between the hay and water the engineering of the tracks creates a more natural rhythm and lifestyle. This rhythm allows us to keep the horses domestically while still respecting their needs for social interaction and movement.
Riding Trails
The Horse First has 68 acres of groomed trails.
Including a Starter Novice and a Beginner Novice Cross Country Jumping Course.
